Wedding

Amazing weekend back in Chicago!  I flew in around 10pm on Thursday night, so I was exhausted from the whole day of traveling.  On Friday, I was able to have breakfast with Brittany and catch up!

Friday night was the rehearsal dinner followed by the rehearsal.  Then Saturday, my longest friend tied the knot and I couldn't be happier for her! It started with early hair and makeup appointments at 6am.  Then we had to be at the church at 8:30 for the ceremony to start at 9:30am.  After the ceremony it was picture time, followed by the reception.  Everything was incredibly beautiful.  Here's a little sneak peak:  (Will post professional pictures when available)

After the reception, a group of us went to The Dam Bar (great name) for a few more pictures, and well drinks of course.  Here's my favorite of my crazy family:

After the bar, we were a little hungry and grabbed some food, where else but Garibaldi's (be jealous Julia).  Yes, I went to a pizza place in my bridesmaid dress!

Sunday, we arrived at the airport bright and early.  I kept my hair in the updo from the day before, but little did I know that bobby pins (64 total) set the security thing off.  So, I had to get patted down, lol.  However, I was pleasantly surprised that both of my flights were first class tickets!  I had no idea!  So I definitely lived it up in my roomy seat and enjoyed breakfast and lunch on the plane. (Can't get picture to load right side up)

On Monday, Dr. St Jean battled Dr. Johnson at lunch with theriogenology tools!  To funny...only at Ross! Check out the video on my Facebook wall, it's too big to post here.

Monday night Taylor made me dinner and we ended up watching Magic Mike, which was sadly a disappointment!  The dancing was fun, but it only lasted like 5 mins!
On Wednesday, there was another VBMA meeting, so I am pretty much officially done!  One of the classes I'm taking counts toward one of the certificate points, so all I have to do is wait for that class to end! lol
Then on Thursday, I ran to town to run some errands during our class break.
Friday is the Olympic opening ceremony, so I'm having people over to have some dinner and watch it.  The rest of the weekend, I will probably just be studying and maybe hang out at a pool or something.

Short week

Friday night, a group of us went out dancing at Bamboo.

Saturday, I got my nails done for the wedding and just relaxed the rest of the day.

My last dog walking day was on Sunday (was not expecting him to kiss me for the pic!)  The rest of day was full of TA sessions and some studying.

Monday I woke up with a painful sore throat, so I was constantly drinking water and tea, and popping throat drops.  Apparently it paid off, because on Tuesday I felt much better.
The third Micro exam was on Wednesday with a crazy amount of material on it.  A few of us then went out to dinner at Sprats for some  much needed time off from school.  No more exams until finals in 4weeks!
I went to class in the morning on Thursday, but then my flight to Chicago was that afternoon.  The rest of my weekend will be filled with Jenna and Steve wedding festivities!  So excited and that's why this post is so short!  Promise to have lots of pictures next week of all the fun!  Congratulations you two!

Truly On An Island Now

This past weekend:
Friday: Birthday dinner for Sam followed by dancing
Saturday: A few of us had a cookout at the pool followed by a birthday dinner for Ernie, followed by midnight dip in the pool at Marriott (some with their clothes on)
Sunday: Ta sessions, cleaning, dog walking, dinner at Kelli's

So I started dog walking this week.  Basically, every 1st semester is assigned a week and a kennel dog or two to walk during that week. We have to walk them in the morning around 6am, then in the evening around 4:30pm.  I was actually suppose to do it next week, but since I'm going back to the States, I was able to switch it around for this week. I got assigned to Sheldon.

On Wednesday we had our Nutrition test which I did not feel prepared for, but still ended up doing did well.  That night a friend asked me to go with her to a VIP dinner with the New Zealand cricket team which was pretty fun, but it ended up being a later night that I wanted.
Thursday during our break, I actually went home to take a nap because I was so exhausted from lack of sleep the night before.

We have been out of internet at our apartment since Monday evening and it's not fun.  It's crazy how dependent we get on the internet here.  We can't really study either because our notes are online and we can't print because the printers on campus are down.  Plus, it's been pouring rain nearly every single day here.  I'm really living the island life now!

Friday, a group of us are thinking about going out dancing.  Saturday, another group of us are getting our nails done and I'll be getting ready for wedding next weekend!

So Much To Do

This past Saturday was the PAWS adoption event where one dog and sadly no cats found a home.  I  then went to the lab and went to Kelli's to "study" but it ended up being talk and pool time.   It was my friend's bachelorette party back home that I missed :(  I cannot wait for the beautiful wedding though!  So sweet to include me in the pictures!  Love you!

On Sunday, there were TA and tutor sessions.  It poured around 3am that it actually woke me up and some of my stuff was getting wet.  It was the first thunderstorm here...welcome to hurricane season.  My roommate was actually outside at the music festival that came here as it rained.  I made homemade meatballs, sauce, and pickles that night!  The grandma's would be so proud!

On Tuesday, we had a "pop" Anatomy quiz; they told us last week that it would be today.  At lunch, there was a speaker for the VMBA certification, so one more speaker and I will be done!  I have thought more about traveling over my break, so I might be visiting Puerto Rico for a few days!
Happy Fourth of July, we had a Physio test!  We had an earthquake around 5:30pm, which is very unusual for St. Kitts.  It actually happened in Angullia (60 miles away), but we were able to feel it here.  No "live" fireworks no me this year though :(  I heard them, but wasn't able to see any.  Alex and I did watch the Macy's Fourth of July special though, so I at least got to see some sort of fireworks.  I also found out one of my good friends got engaged! Congratulations Kellen!
On Thursday, I didn't have any classes until 1pm, so it was anatomy time. That night, I talked to African Conservation Experience (ACE)  about more details about the volunteer trip.  I'm so excited to be going to Africa in April 2013!  This is the opportunity of a lifetime and something I've been wanting to do for the longest time! I cannot believe it is actually going to come true!   Pinch me I know I'm dreaming...
Today (Friday) we have our second Anatomy exam and tonight I'm going to dinner at Rock Lobster for Sam's birthday.   Hopefully there will be some much needed relaxation time! We are going to try to arrange a BBQ at Liz's pool on Saturday during the day for a delayed Fourth of July celebration.  There is another dinner at Bombay, that night, this time for Ernie's birthday.
I will probably start studying nutrition on Sunday for our test on Wednesday.  I also start dog walking next week, but more about that next time.
