Break

During break, I have been able to visit just about everyone I wanted to see which was very bittersweet.  I was incredibly happy to see everyone, but it's incredibly sad that I have to leave them again.
I ate incredibly too much since I was trying to eat everything that I haven't had and missed, plus a lot of people wanted to catch up over dinner, so I had a dinner date every night.

There was Steeple Chase madness all day Saturday!  I was so glad I was in town for it this year!

I've also been doing lots of packing to bring more stuff down with me.  I still don't think all my stuff is going to fit!

I have started looking over some Anatomy so I can be more familiar with the parts next semester.

It's pretty much been gloomy every day here since I've been back.....where is the sun?!

Sunday my parents and I went down to Charleston, SC to visit my aunt who sailed in.

I've also had doctor appointments and hair appointments and basically trying to get everything in before I leave on Saturday!

Offically a Firstie!

Monday we took our finals that kicked all of our butts, but we are now officially done with vet prep! yay!  I packed up the rest of my room and moved some of my stuff into storage.  I also helped move Kelli into her new apartment.  We then all celebrated by going out to dinner at Rock Lobster with good food and free sangria!
Tuesday, I checked out of my room and got some last minute paperwork done with my car and some other little odds and ends that I needed to do before leaving the island.  We were suppose to get an email today if we passed vet prep or not, and sadly we ended up losing 4 people.  :(  I passed and I am now officially in vet school!  For those curious people, I got a Pass in EMB, Application, and Study Skills, A in Vet Term, B in Micro, B in Pharm, and B in Physio.
Then at 3pm I boarded a plane back to the States!  In Miami, Kelli and I grabbed margaritas and quesadillas with extra guacamole...yum, how I missed them all.   It was a very long day of traveling and mixed emotional, but I am glad to be back!
The rest of the week has been relaxing, but filled with lots of visiting and errand running.  I was able to see lots of friends and catch up! On the way to CLT, I was even able to catch up with Julia and grab lunch with her.
I made my way home and was finally able to have my reunion with my pup!  Check out our reunion video: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10100935485795823&set=vb.6205924&type=2&theater
Mom also had the house decorated complete with a monkey cake.

Many thanks to all my generous friends (especially Kristen and Alan, and Bethany) for spoiling the heck out of me and being so kind to let me stay with them, and drive me to NC!

Last week of Vet Prep

So this past weekend, I went paddle boarding, which lasted about four hours as we paddled our way around part of the island.  It was the perfect day to do it too.

That night, the entire vet prep group  went to the strip for a wine and cheese night, which ended up turning into a karaoke and dancing night.  We pretty much had the bar to ourselves, so we had a blast and a bunch needed break from everything.

Sunday morning, I went to Easter mass, yes it lasted two hours, and then a cookout for lunch.  I started packing more of my room up as well.  That night, Chris made us homemade sausage, spinach, and cheese ravioli...very good!

I was suppose to get my car on Monday, but the locals here still consider "Easter Monday" a holiday, so doing all the paperwork had to be changed until Wednesday.  I did spend the day studying and getting more of my room together.
On Tuesday we had our last Applications, EBM, Pharm, and Micro class....crazy to think this semester is already over! I feel like I just got here!
On Wednesday I went and got my car paperwork all transferred to my name and I am now the owner!  Who is up for a joy ride?!

Thursday was our last day of Study Skills and Vet Term, which leaves one more class, Physio!
Friday and this weekend is studying weekend for tests Monday and I will then be back in the states on Tuesday!  I cannot wait!  I will still update my blog throughout break however, so be sure to keep reading!

As a side note:
Monday April 16th is the 5th Anniversary of the shootings at Virginia Tech.  Please keep the families of the victims in your thoughts and prayers.

2 more weeks

Monday's tests kicked all of our butts this time around.  I was literally exhausted after taking it, but I surprising pulled off some great grades (Micro- B, Physio- B, Vet Term- A, Pharm- B).  Huge sigh of relief.  On Tuesday I starting to pack my room to move and a group of us went to see the Hunger Games.  So good! A movie based on a book that I actually liked...don't get me wrong though, book was much better, but I still really enjoyed the movie.  Now, I must finish the third book stat!
Wednesday night, Kelli and I treated the professors that gave us the surfing lessons to dinner at Sprat Net's since they both have never been there.  We had yet another great time with them.
Then on Thursday,  Kelli, Taylor, and  I went to Shiggity Shack to use the gift card I won before it expired at the end of the month.
Friday after class, we are going to the beach and hopefully cooking some lobster if we happen to catch any that day!  Saturday, Kelli and I are going paddle boarding during the day and then that night the vet prep group decided to have a wine and cheese night at the strip.  Saturday is also my baby's birthday! She's going to be 12!
Sunday we are planning on going to church in the morning for Easter and a little cookout for lunch, then probably the beach for the rest of the day!  Finals are in a week and have, so this is basically the last weekend we can go out before we need to crack down for finals.

April photo challenge!
