Shark Dive in St Maarten

Weekend: Shark Dive in St Maarten was absolutely amazing!
"I'm diving in I'm going deep in over my head I want to be /Caught in the rush lost in the flow in over my head I want to go/The river's deep the river's wide the river's water is alive/So sink or swim I'm diving in"

Tuesday: I went to port to pick up a package (thanks Mom, Dad, Ryan, and Julia!), unpacked, did laundry, and tried to catch up on some school work. The internet was out all afternoon, so it was hard to get a lot done. I also went to trivia that night!
"Bring me down/ Can't nothing bring me down/ My level's too high/ Bring me down/ Can't nothing bring me down" Pharrell Williams - Happy

Wednesday: I was still catching up...
Feeling confident: "I'll be everything that I want to be/I am confidence in insecurity/I am a voice yet waiting to be heard/I'll shoot the shot, bang, that you hear round the world"  SuperChick - One Girl Revolution

Thursday:  How many times can the power and internet go out in one day? Enough that you aren't productive and extremely annoyed (10 more months.....).
 "Birds flying high/You know how I feel/ It's a new day/You know how I feel/Sun in the sky/You know how I feel/ It's a new day/You know how I feel" Flo Rida - How I Feel

Friday:  I had a DI quiz, met with my canine anesthesia group, and my gown and glove fitting.  I also had to meet with a guy about bringing in his cat to PAWS.  Volleyball tonight!
"Can we go back, this is the moment/Tonight is the night, we’ll fight 'til it’s over/So we put our hands up like the ceiling can’t hold us."   Macklemore and Ryan Lewis - Can't Hold Us

Weekend:  Wow it's March!  I will be catching up on work and bringing some more PAWS cats in.

Letter to the next generation

Midterms/Birthday

This past weekend:  We had so many adoptions!  We now currently only have 5 cats in the program and they are all kittens!  I think that's the least amount of cats I've seen in PAWS.  Looks like it' time to start bringing more in!  Also, I found someone to start training for my feline foster intake position.  It's bittersweet, but I'm ready to let someone else take it over and have that much more time for school.
Such a good song:  "These battle scars, don't look like they're fading/ Don't look like they're ever going away/ They ain't never gonna change"  Lupe Fiasco & Guy Sebastian - Battle Scars

Monday: Subcutaneous suture lab and belly dance!
Because I need to get through studying for this awful Tox exam: "I gotta get through this/ I gotta get through this/ I gotta make it, gonna make, gonna make it through"   Daniel Bedingfield - I'm Gonna Get Through This

Tuesday: Class in the morning, lunch with a friend, and then studying all day.
In honor of the tox exam: "Poison ivy, poison ivy/Late at night while you're sleepin' poison ivy comes a'creepin'/Around"  The Coaster - Poision Ivy

Wednesday: Class in the morning and studying all day
Praying that is tox exam goes well: "We're half way there/ Livin' on a prayer/ Take my hand and we'll make it - I swear/ Livin' on a prayer" Bon Jovi - Living On A Prayer

Thursday: Happy Birthday to me!  I had a Tox exam....blah!  I did get to Skype with my parents and puppy that night and had over 180 people wish me happy birthday on Facebook!  Thank you all!
In honor of me, one of my old favorite songs:  "No shorty, it's Beyonce,/We gonna' party like, it's ya birthday,/We gettin' naughty like, it's ya birthday/ So put ya drink up in the air if you look sexy"
Beyonce - In Da Club

Friday:  DI exam and then volleyball to celebrate my birthday and midterms being over!
"A little party never killed nobody, so we gon’ dance until we drop/ A little party never killed nobody, right here, right now’s all we got"  Fergie - A Little Party Never Killed Nobody

Weekend:  I'm incredibly excited about this weekend!  I am going to St. Maarten on Saturday through Monday to dive with sharks!  I hope I can get tons of pictures and videos with my new camera because this is a once in a lifetime experience!   Song for the weekend?  You guessed it!  JAWS Theme Song

Lazy/Tired

Relaxing and unproductive weekend lyrics:  "Today I don't feel like doing anything/I just wanna lay in my bed"  Bruno Mars - Lazy Day

Monday: I gave the Aviary talk, had two anesthesia labs, and dance class.
"Just a day,/ Just an ordinary day./Just trying to get by" Vanessa Carlton - Ordinary Day

Tuesday: It was suppose to be SAM exam review, except they forgot about it. (I think I deserve some bragging rights...I did AWESOME on this exam!)  I fell asleep trying to read my notes and then joined some friends at trivia night at Bombay.
These lyrics because it was ridiculously hot today: "Hot town, summer in the city/ Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty/ Been down, isn't it a pity/ Doesn't seem to be a shadow in the city/ All around, people looking half dead/Walking on the sidewalk, hotter than a match head"
Loving Spoonful - Summer In The City

Wednesday:  I had my equine physical exam and took a nap when I got home.
These lyrics because I really don't want to study: "All I wanna do is have some fun/I got a feeling I'm not the only one" Sheryl Crow - All I Wanna Do

Thursday:  We sadly had to put one of our PAWS kitties down today due to Panleukopenia.  I took another nap (I don't know what it is, but I've been tired all week).  I went to the DI TA session since our quiz was the next day and then to hip-hop class.
It's Julia's birthday: "Happy Birthday to you!" Happy Birthday

Friday:   DI quiz and volleyball
Happy Valentine's Day! In honor of it, I have to put one of my favorite love song at the moment: "But I don't want 'good' and I don't want 'good enough'/ I want 'can't sleep, can't breathe without you' love/ Who care if you're all I think about, I've search the world and I know now/ It ain't right if you ain't lost your mind/ Yeah, I don't want easy/ I want crazy"  Hunter Hayes - I Want Crazy

Weekend: I will be studying for Tox and DI, and we have adoption day on Saturday.

In honor of the Olympics:

February Song Month

Wow February already! So many people have been telling me how much of an inspiration I am for them and how proud they are of me.  It's comments like that which keep me going; this place can really make you question yourself, so thank you for your kind words and believing in me when I don't always believe in myself.

Since music is such a huge part of my life and part of what keeps me going, how about this month I post song lyrics each day.  They will by lyrics that some how represented my day or just a song I heard and really enjoy the lyrics to that day.  I will also provide the link for the video so you can hear the song!

Monday:  Study, study, study!  Sadly, only a handful of people showed up to my belly dance class today.  I think it was because there are so many exams this week.  I just thought of it as a study break though.
I only chose this song because the girls in my dance class wanted to practice the choreograph several times so they could remember it.  So this is the song that they are learning a dance to:
" Mere Zindagi Tere Ho gayhe (My life has become your property)/ Bring it Back [Timbaland]/ Ye Diwandigi na roke kubi (May this love never end)/ Bring it Back [Timbaland]" Timbaland - Bombay

Tuesday - ANS exam, which I did not feel good about at all.  However, it's time to move on and study for SAM on Friday.  I skipped the optional DI lab in order to get started on studying.
These lyrics because I can't worry about my ANS test, I need to keep studying and move onto SAM: "If you're goin' through hell keep on going/ Don't slow down if you're scared don't show it/ You might get out before the devil even knows you're there/ When you're goin' through hell keep on movin'/Face that fire walk right through it"  Rodney Adtins - If You're Going Through Hell

Wednesday: Exam review for the ANS exam
This song was in my head most of the day:  "So let your heart, sweet heart/ Be your compass when you're lost" Lady Antebellum - Compass

Thursday: No SAM today, she gave us the day off to study.  DI ultrasound lab where I actually got to perform my first ultrasound!
This is the song I would have danced to at hip-hop class if I went and didn't have to study, and it fits because of my exam tomorrow: "Hold your head high/ Fingers to the sky/ They gon' try to try ya/ But they can't deny ya"  Britney Spears - Work Bitch

Friday: SAM Exam and taking the night off at volleyball
Well because it's finally the weekend and I need a break: "Cheers to the freakin' weekend" Rihanna - Cheers (Drink To That)

Weekend: Brunch for Alex's birthday and getting organized for the next set of exams.

I have been complimented by coworkers on how I manage my work-life balance. It's extremely important in my field to understand and enfor...
