Aurora

Introducing the newest addition to my household....Aurora! She's a 1 year old that I adopted from the shelter after I got to know her after she spent some time at my clinic. Even though she still has some training that needs to be done, she's been adjusting so well so far. She loves playing with Anya and is slowly warming up to the idea of cuddling. Anya has already taught her the importance of popcorn nights, how to bark when someone comes to the door, and how to try to chase squirrels. I can't wait for the many more adventures of having two dogs and where life will continue to take us all.

Start Of The New Year (2019 Edition)

This year, 2019, has so far started out smoothly. I've been working on resolutions of reading more, obviously getting back in shape and eating better, and going someplace new every month. It kick it off, two weeks ago I traveled to Seattle for the weekend. The last time I was there was about 15 years ago. It was a nice getaway from the snow in Virginia for a short period of time.

Met up with a great friend! So good to see you!

I have another resolution to get better about writing posts again, as I've been terrible about it the past couple of months. Aside of working, my time has also been spent re-watching Game of Thrones! It's been announced that the season premiere and finale season is April 14th!

2018 in Review

2018 has been a stressful, yet successful year. There has been so much to be thankful for and learned from. Let's take a look back on my past year.

The beginning of the year in January, I started exploring the properties of crystals and probably spent too much on them. I also became a member of the Paradise Springs winery and have since nearly spent once a month there. I finally gave in and got Lasik done in February - best decision ever. I've been so happy with the results and encourage anyone interested to go in for a consult. The Virginia Veterinary conference was held in Roanoke this month as well.  Susie and I tried going to Boston for a weekend in March, but a storm with severe wind ended up canceling the flight. I channeled my college school days and went dancing at several Spanish bars in the city. In May, my family traveled to Eastern Europe, including Budapest, Vienna, and Prague. I started exploring the idea of practicing alternative medicine. We had a lot of wildlife come into the clinic in June. It also happened to mark my 10 year college reunion....still crazy to think how much time has passed. I attended my friend, Jess', wedding in MT in July. In order to further my experience in my career, I started performing surgery on exotic animals at work. Taking a short weekend trip to Chicago for my best friend jump started August. The frustrations of my Instagram account getting hacked, lead me to overeat at restaurant week, trying 3 different restaurants. The summer ended with a dog pool party that Anya fully enjoyed, but the warm weather was short-lived with hurricane rain while we were at the Renaissance Festival. In October, after one year of being friends and hanging out, my boyfriend and I became official and marked the occasion by traveling to Guatemala and El Salvador.  As our Thanksgiving tradition, my family traveled to the Bahamas. I also saw Anastasia on Broadway and attended the Price is Right road show.  In December, we ventured to Nashville and partied on Broadway street. The month and year ended with a great Christmas in Charlotte with my family, including a new puppy cousin for Anya.

Here's to another exciting year, filled with love, great friendships, travel, knowledge/wisdom, healthy, and above all happiness. Good luck with your resolutions; this is your year to sparkle. And so a new adventure begins!
