Birthday Week

We lost in volleyball this week and I have this to show for it:
A very beautifully purple, blue, swollen thumb.
Also, adoption day was this weekend, but no one got adopted this time.

Monday and Tuesday I just studied for my Physio test on Wednesday.  Tuesday night, Amber and her husband were on House Hunters International which took place down here!  Be sure to watch Kelli and Gavin on March 22nd!
Wednesday was my birthday! Happy Birthday to me! Oh and my Physio test...blah.  I got lots of fun surprises and treats!  That night I had a  birthday dinner at Ciao, one of the Italian restaurant here because it's not my birthday until Italian food is involved, oh and maybe some Margaritas! The dinner took 3 hours, which I should not have been surprised by, and then a few of us went over to the casino afterwards. Thank you to everyone for making it so special!  Thank you for the cards and packages!

Thursday was another scuba session as well as the test.  I got a 96% on it!  Now if only I could do that on my actual school tests...
Friday is the volleyball, shorebirds project, and a rum run.  I haven't actually been on a rum run before, but all I know is there are three buses, lots of people, and drinks involved.  Will post pictures later!
This weekend is midsemester break, so we have Monday off.  There is a lot of fun going on this weekend!  On Saturday, I have my pool scuba session where we learn the basics.  On Sunday, I am going on a catamaran trip complete with drinks and snorkeling!  Then Monday, I might go to the beach or maybe do some studying. 7 more weeks until the semester is over and I will be in Africa!

Great site that someone made of all the hikes in St. Kitts

Celebrations

Weekend - Won volleyball, dinner for Liz and studying, cleaning the rest of the weekend

On Monday, I helped out with some more donkey research.  It is the last day for a 10 day rest period for the donkeys.  So we reshaved their numbers in their side, weighed them, aged them, and took blood samples.
Tuesday, we had two hours of Physio this morning, because the second semester's have an Immuno exam tomorrow, so there is so Physio class tomorrow.
Wednesday - HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIA!

No physio today, but I was on campus early for some gym and study time.  There was a meeting at lunch about World Vets, which is the international aid for animals.  (Think Doctor's Without Borders, but for vets).  I then got to Skype with Julia and my parents before I left for mass for Ash Wednesday.  I didn't realize it was lent already!  Better think of something to give up or do.
Thursday was our first day of Scuba!  It was classroom learning for 3 hours.  What took the longest was figuring out everyone's schedule between the two groups and deciding when we can do our pool and ocean dives.  Also,  Happy Valentine's Day!  I ate tons of chocolate from all my friend's spoiling me, plus I received my birthday package from my family early!  Thanks!

Friday, we had volleyball and Plover patrolling.  Plover's are tiny island bird's that the Sea turtle monitoring research want to keep an eye on to make sure turtle's are destroying their nests.  So, I volunteered to patrol two of the beaches, about once a week, just to check and mark any of their nests.

This weekend is the semester's second adoption day and then I will be studying the rest of the weekend!

How Not To Be A Dick At The Vet Hospital

Lazy week

I had a fun weekend full of a little pool time, some volleyball (even though we lost), dancing, relaxing, and the Superbowl.  Here was the joke in St. Kitts about the Superbowl:

On Monday, I got lots of emails about several kittens that needed homes, so I was emailing around to see who I could bring into the PAWS program.  I was also able to Skype with Bethany that night!
Tuesday, I had donkey research and a few more emails about kittens.  I watched movies most of the day....lazy lazy.
Wednesday was Alex's birthday, so we hung out at the beach for the afternoon and then went to dinner at Sprat's!
Thursday was another lazy day, but I still got some studying done.  Thank you to Kristen and Jenna for my cards!  I love them!  Thank you for thinking of me!
Friday, I had some more donkey research and volleyball that afternoon, along with Liz's suprise birthday dinner at Serendipity.
This weekend I will probably do some cleaning, studying, and pool time!

Dog walk

PAWs Animal Welfare Walk:

Sunday consisted of studying and cleaning.

Physiology test was on Monday!
Tuesday wasn't too exciting other than classes, however that night I did attempt ceaser dressing and pasta with vodka-cream sauce.  It turned out pretty well! I was impressed!
On Wednesday I didn't have class until 9am, but I went to school at the usual time to get an early gym session in.  I ran to the bank and got my oil changed before afternoon classes.  I also bought my flight, registration, and hotel for the LSU student conference!  Yay so excited!
On Thursday, It was the last day of my photo challenge!  I cannot believe I kept up with it for one year!  It's time for something else though.
Friday, February 1st! It's seriously February already?  I have donkey research testing from 9-11am and then volleyball.

This weekend I have more donkey research  and I will probably spend some time at the beach or pool!
