Always Learning

This week, I had two CE sessions, in order to get the ball rolling on renewing my license already. Unfortunately, I probably won't have the opportunity to go to a conference this year so I will have to take advantage of all the little CE sessions in the area or online.

I've also been seeing mostly exotics and a couple small animal appointments.  It's been physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausting.  Hopefully once I have more of a set schedule, then things will get a little easier.

Beauty and the Beast this weekend!! I don't think the smile left my face the entire movie.  I enjoyed the addition of new songs as well as the redone classics. As cheesy as it sounds, the movie was magical!

We experience a lack of communication, attention, passion, intimacy and even lack of love. Why are we okay with this and all the communication shortcuts that have become so common? This type of cheating causes much more damage than that of any sexual affair. 

This week I've been training on AM treatments, which means the care of all the emergency patients that come in the previous evening and night.   I have realized that I like having more of a set schedule of when patients come in. It gives me time to research the case and decide what I want to do without the pressure of an emergency.

It snowed earlier this week......this better be the last of it. The snow is fine when it isn't coupled with freezing weather (yes I realize what I just said).

What Day Is It?

These weeks keep getting away from me and I can't keep up with what it is since I don't have the typical weekends right now.

I've had more exotic appointment, as well as my first small animal emergency appointments this week.  As much as you learn in school, you are still constantly learning every single day on the job.

I found out my friend that I've known since middle school is moving close by me! I love having my close friends in the same state as me again!

My sister is coming this weekend for her friend's wedding shower.  Anya is so excited!

I also have two days off in a row coming up.....what to do with them....

Appointments

This week I was on exotics and PM treatments/Emergency. I'm trying to develop a routine among my unconventional schedule. I officially started seeing exotic appointments this week as well.  The flu is going around the clinic so a lot of the doctors are out sick. I stocked up on vitamin C and zinc this week just be sure.  With exotics, a lot of the diseases and injuries we see can be prevented.  They are vastly different from dogs and cats, so you cannot treat them like dogs and cats. Unfortunately, when these exotic species come to us, it's too late for us to do anything about them. When you purchase an exotic animal, do your research and know how to take care of it.  Sure they may be cute, but they don't always make the greatest pets (ie hedgehogs and sugar gliders).

The post office decided that no one lived at my address so they had been sending all my mail back to the sender.  So if you sent me a letter/card, then sent it back this way, I should be getting them now!
