FINALS

This weekend was full of studying as well as the meeting for the dog walking on Sunday.  I picked up some PAWS food donations as well.  The food prices for PAWS are increasing next semester and since we have so many pets in the program, we were hoping the current 7th semesters would donate the food they don't need since they are leaving.  We were able to get 8 bags of dog food and 9 bags of cats food so far.
Monday was full of studying, of course!  I also did dog walking in the morning for a 25EC gift certificate.  Yay!
My Physio final was on Tuesday.  No matter what the outcome is, I am done with 2nd semester!  I treated myself to a massage and drinks on the beach :) Today was also the 6 year anniversary of  the VT shootings.

On Wednesday, I dropped Alex off at the airport at 5am, had dog walking, set up room for PAWS cats, received some more food donations and started packing a bit.
On Thursday, I again had dog walking, put cats in room for break, went to Shipwreck beach, and then stayed for end of semester party.  The semester is officially over for everyone!
Friday I leave for South Africa for two weeks!  I'm incredibly excited; this is something I've wanted to do my whole life and I finally get the opportunity to do it!  I won't have access to internet, so I will post all about it along with hopefully tons of pictures when I get back!

Offically Dive Certified

Abby's birthday dinner on Friday
I had two foster cats this weekend, one was new to PAWs and the other cat's foster had a medical emergency so I had to take her.  I had my last two scuba dives on Saturday.  Despite getting sea sick in between the two and after the second dive, I'm officially scuba certified!

Sunday was my baby's 13th birthday!  I wish I could have been home cuddling with her!

One of the cats went to a new foster on Monday and we also had a PAWs meeting that night.  The rest of the day was just full of studying!  This picture was taken here by some students at the beach.  Good thing I didn't see this while diving!

Tuesday - Friday: Studying!
On Tuesday there was a small earthquake here, but I must have been too focused to feel it.
Wednesday a group of us went out to dinner to have a small celebration before finals started.  Some student was robbed at gunpoint last night.  She studies with her door open, so it was a reminder for us all to keep our doors closed and always keep our guards up.  The school had yet to send out an email or alert to the students by Thursday night.  Students were very disheartened and upset.  How many more months until I'm off this island??
Then one of my favorite TV shows decided to do an episode on school shootings.....bad timing guys.
This weekend I will be doing lot of studying! I volunteered to assist in walking the kennel dog, so there is a meeting for that on Sunday.  I will get some good gift certificates for doing so :)  I also need to make sure the room the PAWS cats are staying in for break is all set up before they are put in there on Thursday.

Easter weekend

Party on Friday at a friend's house

Saturday was a full day of chicken research.
Sunday was Easter!  Mass in the morning and brunch at Carambola with a group of friends.

On Monday I actually almost walked out of class. The microphone had some feedback so it was a really loud poping sound. He falls over, like normal, ok whatever no big deal, but then he gets up and says "guess the guards aren't doing their job today." Like implying that he was shot. Not appropriate at all.  A bunch of people were looking around like did he seriously just say that. That afternoon, it was more studying and trying to figure out where the PAWs cats are going over break.
Tuesday was another brush fire, but this time very close to campus.  Just another day when you can't breathe....#thirdworldproblems

Alex and I went to see Safe Haven that night.
On Wednesday, I went and saw another movie, The Host and of course more studying.
Thursday I ran some errands and did more studying.
Friday is a friend's birthday dinner, so we are going to PJs, which I haven't been to yet.
Saturday I have two dives and I will be officially scuba certified!  Sunday I will hopefully get some pool or beach time in and if not, then I will be studying!
