Halloween weekend

The weekend was full of lots of fun Halloween parties.  Thursday and Saturday I dressed up as a minon (from Despicable Me) and Friday night, since my other minions didn't come out, I just put on some of my belly dance outfit.  Saturday night was island idol where a group of us performed Time Warp from Rocky Horror, and we won!  Check out the video here.

 

 

Monday - On campus for nearly 12 hours....ugh

Tuesday - On campus again forever!  This semester needs to end asap....I'm exhausted

Wednesday - Just keep swimming, just keep swimming

Thursday - ClinPath Exam!

Friday -  I will be organizing for the Epi/Path miniblock in a week and maybe I will take a break to go to volleyball for a little bit.

THIS WEEK I'M THANKFUL FOR:  My friends and family who have helped support me and get me to where I am now.  I really couldn't have gotten this far without all of your kind words and love.  It has been quite the roller coaster of a journey.

Prayer of a Vet

This weekend is the last PAWS adoption day for the semester.  I'm having a hard time finding fosters for all the cats over the upcoming break, so hopefully we can get some little ones adopted out!  The VT game vs Miami is Saturday night.....let's hope we learn to play again.  Then, of course, I will be  studying the rest of the time.

BEST: We got new remotes to our apartment gate, so it's finally working again!

Thursday - Happy Halloween!
BEST: Out to Shipwreck beach for a Halloween party.

Friday is November 1st!  I had no classes today, so instead of making it a beach day, I studied all day....sigh.

This weekend I will be studying for ClinPath and maybe go to some of the Halloween parties.

Tuesday was our Pharm exam worth 50% of our grade...ugh!  Our semester then put on a pink vs blue semester olympics since we didn't have a mid-semester break.
BEST: Done with Pharm and can relax!

Wednesday
BEST: I was able to relax one more day!

Our minion costumes came in on Thursday! I'm very excited to try it on!  Also, I now have the earlier lab, so I get done at 3pm instead of 5pm, yay!
BEST: I brought in new foster kitties to PAWS and I get to foster them for a few days!

Friday
BEST: Finally have time for volleyball!  I think this is the third time I've been all semester!

This weekend I need to study for MOD On Tuesday....Three more weeks of this insanity that is 4th semester.

Hell Week

 

This weekend was Jess' bday dinner, and on Saturday one of our cats and dogs got adopted at adoption day!

Monday - Very long day with stressing about exams and an exam review that night.
BEST: Had some sushi for lunch

Tuesday: Epi exam
BEST:  I had some coffee in the morning and was able to go to the gym after my exam, so that put me in a good mood the rest of the day.

Wednesday
BEST: Johnny Cake for lunch! Yum!

Thursday
BEST: FCP kitten adoption day, so I got to cuddle some kittens!

Friday: Path exam and now time to cram for Pharm with my 45 page study guide....yes study guide!
BEST: One more exam before a break!

Weekend - This would be the weekend of our mid-semester break, however, I need to study for Pharm on Tuesday (It's worth 50% of our grade).

Tuesday:  ClinPath exam!  Funny thing though, we got to the exam and she had the wrong exam printed, so we had to wait 20 mins for them to load the exam on the computer for us to take.  Many people were not happy. We were able to see the correct answers an hour after our exam, so we knew our grades right away.  As a de-stresser, a group of us saw Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2.

Friday: We had our MOD exam review.

This weekend is the second PAWS Adoption day, so hopefully we can get some little ones adopted out.  You can then find me studying for the two exams next week!

Zielinski Wedding/Chicago Weekend

The Zielinski wedding was very fun and very much resembled the personality of the couple.  The wedding was on a Friday and on Saturday we had a little memorial for my Grandma JB who passed away about 5 years ago.  There was tons of food involved all weekend that I'm pretty sure I don't need to eat for the next week.

 

 

 

Monday was a busy day since I needed to study for my exam tomorrow that I really didn't get a chance to study for.  I gave the avian talk to the 4th semesters whose turn it was to clean the aviary.  Since I'm one of the aviary managers, I have to show the students how to clean it. We also don't have pharm at all this week, so we get out a little earlier some days. There was a VBMA dinner talk that night, which I probably wouldn't have gone to since I needed to study, but I took a break so that I could get some credit for my certification.

Alright so it's October!  This month I'm going to do the best part of each day!

All of the Tuesdays this semester have been deemed " optional professional dress days" so I decided that since we bought a bunch of professional clothes to take advantage of it this week.  We had our first MOD exam.  I helped work the AAV bake sale, where we sold out of Bobesy's wings in the first hour!  A friend's surprise birthday rum run took place that night....yes on a weekday.

On Wednesday, I ran some errands in the morning, had a ClinPath TA session, and a PAWS officer meeting.

Thursday was another long day with a ClinPath tutor at night.  We had the same teacher for all our classes today though which was kinda of funny and luckily it's a teacher that makes class interesting.
BEST: I wore my new maxi skirt today and it was so comfortable!  (Thanks Julia!)

On Friday I have a ClinPath tutor and I'm debating about going to The Last Cup (beer pong/flip cup tournament), not to play, but just to hang out and take a study break.

Long Days, Short Week

Long days, but a short week!  Life Of A Grad Student

All of my shows are premiering this week!

On Monday, I had no breaks from 8-5:30pm including a lunch meeting and a tutor.  Since I didn't get much done on Sunday, I had to do laundry and cleaning that night.  I also was constantly checking/writing emails for some new PAWS cats we are bringing in.

3 hours of pharm on Tuesday.....ugh! So again, no breaks from 8-4pm.  VBMA meeting at lunch (free food!)  in order to start on my gold certification.  I got my silver two semesters ago, but they are now doing a gold certification, so I'm going to try to earn that.  You basically just have to attend lectures for certain business categories and earn credits toward this certification that looks great on a resume and helps you learn a little about the business end of veterinary medicine.

Wednesday, we had our exam review from our exams on Friday, PAWS meeting for new members at lunch (free food!), and then a ClinPath tutor, and another goodbye dinner ( :( hopefully the last one) that night at Rituals Sushi.

I went to morning classes on Thursday, but I had a flight to ILto catch for cousin Joey and Danielle's wedding weekend!  Of course, don't forget the Hokie game that night too!!
