Feed Your Pet With Love Not Excess Food
Would you believe that 59% of cats and 54% of dogs in America are overweight? So about 1 in every 3 dogs is considered overweight and guess what....about 1 in every 3 adults in America are considered overweight as well.  We eat sometimes eat because we are bored, but your pet is only going to eat when you provide it food.  It's good for both you and your pet to get outside and get plenty of exercise! Don't let your pet develop the bad habits that you have. It's easy to overfeed your pet in order to show it love, let's face it, we all do it. It's actually hard for most vets to talk to clients about their pet's weight because clients get offended very easily with this subject.  Be aware of your pet's health and make the changes. You have the power over their lifespan and can help prevent obese-related diseases, such as diabetes.

Take your dog hiking with you in order to ensure that it's getting plenty of exercise! Anya can tell you that it's one of her favorite activities because of all the new smells and the chance to roam around somewhere new!

Happy Easter! He is risen!

Break

I had a very nice relaxing break.  I ate way too much food ( I need to start back on my healthy eating when I get back), shopped way too much, slept way too much, and watched way too much TV, but it was a much needed break!

I also took a trip to South Hill, VA to visit a winery and a small state park.

I also went to a cooking class and a winery with my family.

I was able to visit with some friends too.  It was great to catch up with them, but it always feels way too short.  I feel like I need another week before I go back.

Easter weekend

Party on Friday at a friend's house

Saturday was a full day of chicken research.
Sunday was Easter!  Mass in the morning and brunch at Carambola with a group of friends.

On Monday I actually almost walked out of class. The microphone had some feedback so it was a really loud poping sound. He falls over, like normal, ok whatever no big deal, but then he gets up and says "guess the guards aren't doing their job today." Like implying that he was shot. Not appropriate at all.  A bunch of people were looking around like did he seriously just say that. That afternoon, it was more studying and trying to figure out where the PAWs cats are going over break.
Tuesday was another brush fire, but this time very close to campus.  Just another day when you can't breathe....#thirdworldproblems

Alex and I went to see Safe Haven that night.
On Wednesday, I went and saw another movie, The Host and of course more studying.
Thursday I ran some errands and did more studying.
Friday is a friend's birthday dinner, so we are going to PJs, which I haven't been to yet.
Saturday I have two dives and I will be officially scuba certified!  Sunday I will hopefully get some pool or beach time in and if not, then I will be studying!

Last week of Vet Prep

So this past weekend, I went paddle boarding, which lasted about four hours as we paddled our way around part of the island.  It was the perfect day to do it too.

That night, the entire vet prep group  went to the strip for a wine and cheese night, which ended up turning into a karaoke and dancing night.  We pretty much had the bar to ourselves, so we had a blast and a bunch needed break from everything.

Sunday morning, I went to Easter mass, yes it lasted two hours, and then a cookout for lunch.  I started packing more of my room up as well.  That night, Chris made us homemade sausage, spinach, and cheese ravioli...very good!

I was suppose to get my car on Monday, but the locals here still consider "Easter Monday" a holiday, so doing all the paperwork had to be changed until Wednesday.  I did spend the day studying and getting more of my room together.
On Tuesday we had our last Applications, EBM, Pharm, and Micro class....crazy to think this semester is already over! I feel like I just got here!
On Wednesday I went and got my car paperwork all transferred to my name and I am now the owner!  Who is up for a joy ride?!

Thursday was our last day of Study Skills and Vet Term, which leaves one more class, Physio!
Friday and this weekend is studying weekend for tests Monday and I will then be back in the states on Tuesday!  I cannot wait!  I will still update my blog throughout break however, so be sure to keep reading!

As a side note:
Monday April 16th is the 5th Anniversary of the shootings at Virginia Tech.  Please keep the families of the victims in your thoughts and prayers.
